In honor of the WC quarterfinal matchup between the Netherlands and Brazil...two Great 8's are recognized, the magician Dennis Bergkamp and philosopher/legendary Brazilian midfielder Socrates...gotta love the homemade headband.

Zerotracer Superbike

Saw this on the road the other day, had no idea what it was, looked like a spaceship going down the street. Apparently it's the Zerotracer Superbike, can go 280 miles on a single electrical charge and reach a top speed of 160 mph. Plus you don't have to hold the bike up with your feet at red lights (which I think is the most impressive feature). http://www.zerotracer.com/

ESPN: 2010 FIFA World Cup Murals

ESPN commissioned South African design firm Am I Collective to create 32 murals honoring the 32 countries in this year's World Cup. Am I Collective drew inspiration from throwback Ghanaian movie posters that were popular in the 1980's. All the murals look dope, but here's a short list of some personal favorites:

MOST INTIMIDATING:

Anytime a team uses Samurai Swords during a sporting event, usually doesn't end well for the opposition.

MOST LIKELY TO BE SEEN IN THE PLAYER's HOME:


If I were Michael Ballack, I'd put a copy of this in every room....too bad he's injured and can't play in the World Cup.

Great 8's: Audi R8

Ok so branched out a little bit from Great 8 athletes to Great 8 automobiles, this one had to be done....Audi R8, the best car to be Stormtroopered....these pics are from PPI Automotive Design, this one is the PPI Razor GTR and comes w/ 580 hp.

EB "The City": Closer Look

Design Inspiration: The throwback Golden State Warriors logo from the late 60's early 70's known as "The City." Instead of the Golden Gate Bridge cutting across the circle as in the original logo, this one utilizes the Brooklyn Bridge. Other details include the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Statue of Liberty and NYC water tanks.

Fabric: Lightweight, ultra-soft 50/50 polycotton, double-soaked silicone-enzymed washed for a heathered color and vintage look. Made in San Diego, California. Vintage soft, so wash delicately.



Checkerboard base detail inspired by the side panels of the checkered taxi cabs from the early 80's.
