Design History III: Orange County Choppers

This is up there as one of my favorite logos of all time, and it was only created about 10 years ago...For those of you unfamiliar with Orange County Choppers, it is a custom motorcycle company founded in 1999 by Paul Teutal Sr. and Paul Teutal Jr. out of Orange County New York. The father-son duo had previously owned Orange County Ironworks but decided to start building motorcycles out of their garage. A decade later this company is now a multi-million dollar global corporation and has a popular tv show that has aired on the Discovery Channel and TLC for the past 8 years. The logo was drawn up on a tattered piece of paper by Paul Teutal Jr. and represents the acronym OCC in the form of a chopper. Teutal Jr. had no history of art or designing, but single handedly created not only this logo but also designed and fabricated acclaimed choppers including the "Jet Bike" "Fire Bike" "Black Widow Bike" and "Liberty Bike" just to name a few. Incredible story.
