Design History II: FedEx
This was the old logo way back when the company was called Federal Express. It was designed by Richard Runyan in 1973, not very cool, sorry Runyan. The new logo, on the other hand, is one of the most recognizable of all time. It was created in 1994 by Lindon Leader of Landor Associates in San Franscisco. It's an obvious abbreviation of Federal Express, but I bet that many people don't know that there is actually an arrow placed between the E and the X. The sublimal arrow is meant to symbolize the company's forward movement in business.
