Yes I know that Kobe now wears the number 24, but he did have a fair bit of success with the number 8 as well...of course he switched to 24 because that was his first number used in high school, he also wore 33 in high school (the same number as his dad when he was in high school) but couldn't wear it for the Lakers because this guy called Abdul-Jabbar had it retired...so he chose to wear 8 because as a high schooler he went to the Adidas ABCD Camp, and his number there was 143 (1+4+3=8). Also, he wore the number 8 as a kid playing in the Italian Leagues.
